Tuition and Policies
Payment Terms
The tuition for each course is indicated next to the course
description. A deposit of half the tuition is due with your
registration form.
The
tuition balance is due 60 days before the start of your course.
If you enroll within 60 days of the commencement of the course, full
tuition is due upon registration. No allowance or reduction will
be made for late arrival or early departure without the director’s
prior consent.
If
you have to cancel your registration more than 60 days before the start
of the course, the balance of any tuition already paid will be refunded
to you minus a $200 processing fee. If you cancel less than 60
days before the start of the course, tuition (minus a $200 processing
fee) will be refunded only if we are able to fill your slot in the
course.
Medical Care At
least one Whitehead Light Station staff member will have Wilderness
First Responder or EMT certification. Routine first aid provided
by this staff member is included in the tuition. In the event of
more serious injury, Whitehead Light Station staff will provide
transportation to the mainland and from there to Penobscot Bay Medical
Center in Rockland, or will engage ambulance care on the mainland or
emergency evacuation services if the situation warrants it. All
expenses for outside medical care are the responsibility of the program
participant.
Acknowledgement of Risk
Participants acknowledge that the Whitehead Light Station program takes
place in remote setting and that there is a risk of serious physical
