2010 Rental Availability

The entire Whitehead Light Station facility is being offered for rent by the week during parts of June, July, August, September and October.  The cost, which includes the services of a skipper, is $6900 per week in the high season, $4900 per week in the off-season, and $3900 per week in June, plus Maine lodging tax.  Please call (207) 594-2402 or e-mail to inquire about renting the Light Station on any of the dates listed below.

The Facility

Accommodations:
 
A seven-bedroom Lightkeeper's house on 11.1 acres. Three of the bedrooms have one double bed, two have two twins, and two have two doubles. All bedrooms have their own bathroom. The house also includes two sitting rooms, a library, a dining room, and a full kitchen. All linens are provided.

Transportation:
 
You will be picked up on the mainland by the Whitehead Light Station captain in one of the two Whitehead Light Station boats. The captain will live at the Station to help you enjoy your stay and will be available to take small groups on outings in the boat and on trips to the mainland as you require.

Opportunities:

• Spend time on the granite shore watching the sailing traffic.
• Enjoy the moss-carpeted spruce woods.
• Swim off the float (if you are very hardy).
• Visit other local islands.
• Watch birds and seals.
• Buy lobsters from a local lobsterman and cook them out on the rocks.
• Relax with a book outdoors in one of the Light Station's many Adirondack chairs or indoors in our comfortable library and sitting rooms.
• Explore the beautiful Midcoast area.
