Explore the Light Station

Below is a map of Whitehead Island. The Whitehead Light Station is located on an 11-acre parcel on the northeast end of the island. The rest of the island is privately owned and most of it is under a conservation easement with the Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Roll over the numbers to see photos of island landmarks and to learn more about them.

"At Whitehead Light Station, we seek to give participants an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy the dramatic coast of Maine in an atmosphere that will broaden knowledge, strengthen skills, and promote renewal.  We aim to achieve these goals through a program of simple living, appreciation of the natural world, and first-rate instruction."
